Former Central-Phenix City and CVCC standout Heath Peterson has received an honorable mention selection on the NCAA Division II all-region team by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association.
Peterson completed his senior season as Montevallo's first baseman after playing two years with Chattahoochee Valley Community College.
He was named to the Peach Belt Conference first team after finishing second in the conference in home runs (14) and RBIs (69). He was fourth in the NCAA in RBIs and 14th in homers.
The former Red Devil hit .332 this season with 45 runs scored. He hit 13 doubles and had a .602 slugging percentage and a .402 on-base percentage.
