So...have you recovered from the excitement of Wednesday's "American Idol" finale?

I participated in Thursday conference calls with winner Phillip Phillips and runner-up Jessica Sanchez. Read my tweets for a full recap of comments from both singers.

I'll leave you with a short summary of highlights from each call:

Phillip Phillips: His most interesting comment was that "Home," the song he performed as his first single, is a little too pop for his tastes. "I'm a little more rock than that," he said. He wanted to perform an original song as his potential first single, but that didn't work out. Also, Phillip said he will have surgery "pretty soon" to fix his kidney problem. He doesn't expect to miss any of the "Idol" tour dates for health reasons.

Jessica Sanchez: She wanted to perform Prince's "How Come U Don't Call Me Anymore?" on "Idol," but she couldn't get the song cleared. She got a question about rumors that she'll be working with Tommy Mottola, but she couldn't confirm that information. In fact, the moderator ended the discussion at that point and moved on to the next question. Jessica said her album will be urban/R&B. She wants "a little bit of pop, but not much."
