Columbus police arrested a local man Sunday who was allegedly seen driving more than 120 mph on Interstate 185 the day before.

Bruce E. Kennebrew Jr. was taken into custody at his residence on charges of aggressive driving, no proof of insurance, driving with a suspended license and obstruction of a police officer. According to police reports, Kennebrew, 24, was spotted about 7:10 a.m. Saturday speeding through traffic near the St. Marys Road exit in a white Chevy Tahoe.

“The vehicle started cutting people off and making three vehicles swerve to avoid a collision with the Tahoe as it zigzagged in and out of lanes,” Cpl. David Jury of the Columbus Police Department wrote in his report.

The authorities issued warrants for Kennebrew’s arrest, and officers located him Sunday at his apartment on North Lumpkin Road. An initial police report made note of the Copper Theft Task Force providing follow-up investigation, but offered no additional details.

Kennebrew is scheduled to appear Wednesday morning in Recorder’s Court.
