Hunter Webb, a rising senior center fielder at Russell County, has committed to play for Alabama, his father, Russ, announced Thursday.
Webb hit .408 this past season as a junior. He also had three home runs, four triples, five doubles, 20 RBIs and 16 stolen bases after missing about one-third of the season with a knee injury.
Webb went to the Perfect Game National Showcase in the Metrodome in Minneapolis last week and ran a 6.36 in the 60-yard dash, which was the fourth-fastest time among 300 high school athletes from the U.S., Puerto Rico and Canada.
