An altercation after a Little League game Friday night at Britt David Park got two people cited for disorderly conduct after police had to be called.
Moments after Northern beat Harris County in the 12-year-old championship game, a fight erupted beyond the centerfield fence.
Columbus Police Lt. Mark D. Starling called it a heat of the moment thing.
Starling did not release the names of the two adults who were cited nor was he sure which team they were supporting.
Because of the nature of this and it was around kids, we didnt want to take anyone to jail, but we felt like we needed to do something, Starling said.
Not long after arriving, police were able to identify the people Starling called the principle parties.
It was pretty much under control when we got there, Starling said.
At least two people were handcuffed.
That was more for our protection, Starling said.
