ATHENS - After reaching out of state for its tight ends, Georgia is staying within its own borders now.
Jordan Davis, a rising senior at Thomson High School, committed on Sunday to play for the Bulldogs next year.
After mining Missouri (Aron White, 2007), Florida (Orson Charles, 2009) and Massachusetts (Arthur Lynch), Davis will make it three straight years that Georgia stayed in-state, following Jay Rome (2011) and Ty Flournoy-Smith (2012).
Davis' commitment also brings Georgia to 23 for the 2013 class. The Bulldogs plan to sign a bit more than 30 players, depending on how many enroll early. According to the SEC signing rules, a team can sign 25 players in a given academic year (December to August), and the Bulldogs signed 19 last February. Three enrolled early, therefore up to nine 2013 recruits can "back-count" if they enroll early.
