Police cite man after 200 people found at house party

Published: August 6, 2012

Columbus police cited a man early Saturday after they found some 200 people at a house party that ended with gunfire, reports state.

Darryl Williams Jr., 20, was cited for maintaining a disorderly house. He was not arrested at his Germantown Road home, but must appear in Columbus Recorder’s Court next month, reports state.

Officers responded about 12:30 a.m. Saturday to Williams’ home in reference to a loud party. When they arrived, police saw more than 200 people. One neighbor told officers some 100 people had been fighting in the street, police said.

The officers then saw party attendees, including minors, leave the area. Beer bottles lay in the road and yard, and someone fired two gunshots from a car that was leaving.

Williams told officers he had the party while his parents were away. Police say they then cited him and gave him the court summons.
