'Walking Dead' filming in Newnan Friday

If you're a zombie aficionado who can't wait for Halloween, or the return of zombie-centric AMC hit TV series "The Walking Dead," you might want to head up to Newnan on Friday.

According to a report from the Newnan Times-Herald, "The Walking Dead" will be filming some zombie scenes late tomorrow "around the Caldwell Tanks area off East Broad Street." The scenes were originally supposed to be shot last week, but rainy weather interfered.

There aren't a lot of details about exactly what kinds of scenes are being filmed, but the report says there will be simulated gunfire and zombie hordes — so it doesn't sound like any of the series' stars will be making an appearance.

Anyone planning a road trip?
