BREAKING DOWN THE TIGERS

The Good: Take away two losses to Buford, the Class AA state runner-up, and the Tigers could have been playing for another state title.

The Bad: Not much. Sure, Buford ran away from the Tigers in the first matchup, winning by 28 points. But even in the playoff loss, Carver gave one of the state's best teams a scare. Carver simply needs to find a way to get over that hump in order to make it back to the state title game, a place it hasn't been since it won it all in 2007.

Our take: Expectations for Carver are always the same: Double-digit wins and a deep playoff run. Despite a couple of key losses, those results shouldn't change in 2012. The team has an experienced quarterback, a versatile wide receiver and a strong offensive line.
