BREAKING DOWN THE PANTHERS

The Good: The Panthers return 14 starters from last season, seven on each side, including quarterback Jerrell Gilmore and running back Devonte Marshall, who rushed for 494 yards and three TDs despite playing only four games in the backfield.

The Bad: Region 3 has somewhat of a new look as the Dothan schools dropped out and the Montgomery schools were added. But Central, Auburn and Opelika are still there. In four seasons, Rose's Panthers are 1-11 against them.

Our take: The Panthers need to find a way to break through against the Big 3.
