Proven players
Tevin Washington
Position: QB
Ht.-Wt: 6-0, 205
Class: Senior
Stats: Started all 13 games as junior, throwing for 1,652 yards and 11 TDs and rushing for 987 yards and 14 TDs.
Outlook: Washington is the centerpiece of the offense. Not flashy, but very dependable and a strong decision-maker. Enhanced ability to fake the pitch made him more dangerous last season. Universally considered to be the leader of the team.
Omoregie Uzzi
Position: Guard
Ht.-Wt: 6-3, 307
Class: Senior
Stats: Started 12 games, missing Sun Bowl with injury, and was first-team All-ACC
Outlook: A preseason All-America and Outland Trophy candidate, Uzzi flirted with the idea of turning professional after his junior season before opting to return. He has great strength, moves well laterally and plays hard all the time.
Jeremiah Attaochu
Position: OLB
Ht.-Wt: 6-3, 240
Class: Junior
Stats: In 11 games (10 starts), he had 59 total tackles, 11.5 tackles for loss, six sacks, caused two fumbles, recovered a fumble and intercepted a pass.
Outlook: Voted "most likely to be an NFL star" by his teammates, Attaochu is a preseason All-ACC choice and potential All-American. Tall, rangy and quick, he's a perfect piece in Tech's 3-4 defensive scheme. Never seems to quit on a play.
Breakout players
Darren Waller
Position: WR
Ht.-Wt: 6-5, 228
Class: Soph.
Stats: Played 12 games as reserve and as kick blocker on special teams. No receptions.
Outlook: Another in the line of tall, athletic receivers, i.e, Stephen Hill, Demaryius Thomas and Calvin Johnson. If Waller proves he can catch the ball, expect to see him featured in the passing game. Right now his hands are untested.
Quayshawn Nealy
Position: LB
Ht.-Wt: 6-1, 232
Class: Soph.
Stats: Started seven games and had 52 total tackles, three for loss, recovered a fumble and had two interceptions.
Outlook: An athletic inside linebacker with good speed and a high motor. One of the team's most committed in the weight room. Could fill the leadership role left by the career-ending injury to Julian Burnett.Definitely a star in the making.
Robert Godhigh
Position: A-Back
Ht.-Wt: 5-7, 188
Class: Junior
Stats: Played in six games. Carried twice for 18 yards.
Outlook: Made great strides in the off-season and could end up starting opposite Orwin Smith at A-Back. Not very big, but is a smart, determined and effective blocker on the perimeter, which has caught the eye of the coaching staff.
