Former soldier sentenced to three life terms on molestation charges

A former soldier convicted earlier this week on 14 charges that included rape, child molestation and aggravated child molestation, was sentence today to three consecutive life sentences in prison.

Jose Vega-Pacheco, 46, was sentenced during a 1:30 p.m. hearing in Superior Court before Judge Gil McBride. He must serve 90 years in prison before he is eligible for parole.

Assistant District Attorney Letitia Sikes, who prosecuted Pacheco, said the sentencing was in line what the state had sought.
