ROBERTA, Ga. -- The Vikings rallied for two fourth-quarter touchdowns to take home a season-opening 20-13 victory Friday night after winning only one game the previous two years.
"Our kids just played hard -- total team effort," said Pacelli coach Randy Grace.
This was Crawford County's 24th straight loss.
Pacelli quarterback Wyatt Peterson, a transfer from Columbus High, scored all three of his team's touchdowns in his debut with the Vikings. His 25-yard pass to Jay Dawahare set up Peterson's 12-yard touchdown run to tie the game at 13 with 9:43 left.
T.J. Branscomb then recovered a Crawford fumble at the Pacelli 40, and Peterson scored the winning touchdown on a 40-yard run with 6:20 left.
"Our defense played lights out," Grace said. "They allowed only two big plays for the scores, and Crawford had only four first downs the whole game."Friday at Crawford CountyPacelli 7 0 0 13--20
