Apparently, flu shots are available earlier this year. I've noticed that drug stores, big box stores and grocery stores have fliers posted.
Monday, my mother wanted to go to Wal-mart to buy some groceries. We got in the store just before the skies opened up and it started pouring. We could hear the rain pounding on the roof.
I noticed a woman named Katina sitting in an area that said flu shots and other shots were available.
I went over and got my shot. So did my mother.
The questions she asked were so funny. Am I allergic to eggs? Am I pregnant or plan to get pregnant?
I laughed. I told her it was my birthday and I'm 60. I don't think so.
My mother laughed because she's 83.
Katina laughed, too.
It didn't hurt going in, but man, it hurts now.
I get a flu shot every year and have for many, many years. I can't remember one hurting like this.
My sisters always say I'm a wimp. I guess I am. But at least I won't catch the flu. I haven't since I started getting the shots. I catch colds, but not the flu. I guess they work.
So go on. Get your flu shot.
