Columbus police arrested a woman Thursday night after she dragged a police officer with her car, reports state.
Marlina Rivers, 41, is charged with aggravated assault on a police officer, theft by shoplifting and obstruction of an officer, police said.
According to reports, Rivers shoplifted almost $200 worth of items from the Airport Thruway Kmart. Officer Whitney Foster responded to the store and tried to stop Rivers, who by then was in her car. Rivers sped away, and at one point dragged Foster across the pavement.
Rivers fled the scene, and Foster had injuries to her arms, legs and right eye, reports state. Rivers was arrested about 5:20 p.m. Thursday on Douglas Street.
