A man accused of forcing an 82-year-old man into Liberty Baptist Church on Sept. 2 before taking the man’s truck was arrested Friday at his parole office, Columbus police said.

Randy Harmon, 26, of Columbus was driving the victim’s 2007 GMC Canyon pickup when he was arrested about noon at his parole office on Enterprise Court, police said. He is charged with one count each of aggravated assault, burglary, false imprisonment, kidnapping, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime. Harmon is being held in the Muscogee County Jail for a 2 p.m. Recorder’s Court hearing today.

Police said the victim was forced into the church where he was tied up and robbed of his truck keys. The truck was valued at $15,000.

Harmon’s arrest comes more than three years after he was arrested on an aggravated assault charge.
