Columbus State rifle team to open season Saturday ranked No. 16

September 19, 2012

The Columbus State rifle team is ranked 16th in the nation in the Collegiate Rifle Coaches Association poll, which was released this week.

TCU, which won the national championship last season, is No. 1, followed by Kentucky, West Virginia and Army.

The Cougars have three shooters — Abigail Casey, Courtney Duncan and Juli Yoder — returning from last year. Duncan Anderson, Jay Cross, J.S. Fielding and Kelsey Moral are new to the team.

CSU opens the 2012-13 season Saturday at 8 a.m. against North Georgia. The match will be at Fort Benning.
