Belmont, N.C. — The Columbus State soccer team shut out Belmont Abbey 2-0 on Wednesday afternoon at Alumni Field.
The 18th-ranked Lady Cougars are now 6-1. Belmont Abbey is 3-4.
Senior midfielder Stephanie Lowery scored in the 14th minute to give CSU a 1-0 lead. It was her 36th career goal.
Andi Larese extended the lead to 2-0 with a goal in the 52nd minute. It was the second goal of the season for Larese.
Senior goalkeeper Mary Mancin picked up the victory and played all 90 minutes in goal. She improved to 6-1 on the season and tied her season high in saves with four.
