Judy Bernly: Jenness Klein returns to the Springer from Seattle where she lives with her husband, Julian Schrenzel, whom she met on the Springer stage when she was playing Sarah Brown in Guys and Dolls. She also appeared here in Enchanted April, Camelot, A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum and Jekyll and Hyde. She is an outdoor enthusiast and a watercolor artist.
Franklin Hart: Julian Schrenzel appeared at the Springer opposite his future wife Jenness Klein as Sky Masterson in Guys and Dolls in 2006 and in Enchanted April in 2007. Other credits include Chicago, Tosca and 42nd Street.
Roz Keith: Helen Varner has been busy on the Springer stage and in Springer Theater Academy classrooms since she returned to Columbus. She performed here in Damn Yankees, I Tweeted on My iPad (and I Liked it), The Wizard of Oz. Other credits include Thoroughly Modern Millie and Legally Blonde. She teaches musical theater at the Springer Theater Academy and dance at Tonis Dancing School.
Joe: Nick Morrett was last seen here in Damn Yankees. His Springer credits include Man of La Mancha and Seussical the Musical. Nick is a native of Marietta where he graduated from Kennesaw State University with his bachelors in musical theater. When Nick is not performing or teaching, he works for Coca-Cola. Other credits include Grease, A Chorus Line, Bye Bye Birdie, The 25th annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, Pageant the Musical and Hairspray.
Dick: Sam Beman appeared at the Springer in Damn Yankees, The Member of the Wedding, Guys and Dolls, Seussical the Musical, A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, Ragtime, Macbeth, Footloose and Inherit the Wind. He has trained with Whole World Improv Theatre in Atlanta. He recently has been appearing in commercials as East Alabama Sam for Cable TV of East Alabama. He also plays Tinsworthy.
Dwayne: Jim Pharr is the Springers education assistant and director of No Shame Theatre. He was a performer, creator and composor for I Tweeted on My iPad (And I Liked it). He appeared at the Springer in Barefoot in the Park, The Full Monty and Frost/Nixon. At Columbus State university, he appeared in Junie B. Jones and a Little Monkey Business, Cloud 9, Machinal amd Bat Boy: The Musical. He received his bachlors degree in theater education from CSU. His Chattahoochee Shakespeare Company credits include The Rocky Horror Show and Reefer Madness.
Margaret: Stacey Carroll appeared at the Springer in Damn Yankees. She was the stage manager for Our Town at the Christian Heritage Academy. She has performed as an extra in The Reluctant Fundamentalist and Papa.
Kathy: Amanda Eiland appeared at the Springer in Guys and Dolls and My Fair Lady, at The Human Experience Theater in Little Shop of Horrors and Schoolhouse Rock: and at the Neat Theater in The House of Yes. She met her husband at a concert where they were both appearing with different groups, but theyve been making music together ever since.
Josh: Alan Giles appeared in Cinderella, Sideways Stories from Wayside School, Peter Pan, James and the Giant Peach and Carousel: at the Springer. He is a senior at Hardaway High School where he appeared in Youre a Good Man, Charlie Brown, Kindergarten, The Love of Three Oranges and The Dining Room. He has been a Springer Theater Academy student for 13 years. and is a state officer for the International Thespian Society.
Bryan: Josh Rebuck appeared in Damn Yankees, Cinderella and The Wizard of Oz at the Springer, in A Piece of My Heart and The Breakfast Club at CSU and in The Rocky Horror Show and The Taming of the Shrew with the Chattahoochee Shakespeare Company. He graduated from CSU with his bachelors degree in English.
Missy: Michele Rogers choreographed The Official Blues Brothers Revue, The Full Monty and Footloose. She has choreographed and performed in many Springer shows including Oklahoma!, The King and I, Guys and Dolls and A Christmas Carol. She played Patterson in the Springers world premiere of Crazy Love. Other credits include Carousel, The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas, Sophisticated Ladies, Cinderella, A Chorus Line and Peter Pan.
Maria: Zoe Helke-Pierce has been a Springer Theater Academy student for 10 years. She appeared in Frost/Nixon, Big River, Amazing Grace, Ragtime and A Christmas Carol. Shes a junior at Columbus High School where shes appeared in Legally Blonde and Hairspray. She has 13 years experience as a competition dancer at Company C Academy of Dance.
Ensemble: Daryl Blalock is a CSU graduate where he appeared in Stone Girls Dreaming, For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide When the Rainbow Is Enuf, Into the Woods and Once on This Island.
Ensemble: Dureyea Collier graduated from CSU, where he appeared in The Crucible, Cloud Nine, Fences, Fuddy Meers and A Midsummer Nights Dream and directed The 25th annual Putnam County Spelling Bee. He choreographed The Rocky Horror Show for Fabrefaction Theatre Company in Atlanta. He appeared in Damn Yankees and Cinderella at the Springer and The Comedy of Errors at Rose of Athens Theatre.
Ensemble: Andrew Hearn is a senior at Brookstone School, where he appeared in All Shook Up and This is a Test. At Savannah Country Day School he appeared in Guys and Dolls, Les Miserables, Grease, The Sound of Music and Once Upon a Mattress.
Ensemble: Janet Lovett appeared in Bye Bye Birdie and Bring Back Birdie before she entered a 20-year absence from the stage. Shes enjoyed her Springer debut as a mistreated employee because in real life shes the boss along with her husband at their business.
Ensemble: Blake Lowry is a senior at Northside High School where hes appeared in Ring of Fire and Little Women. He has been a Springer Theater Academy student for 13 years and appeared in
Oliviatown and Sideways Stories from Wayside School. He also volunteers at the Springer and is a stilt walker.
Ensemble: Kaylen Morgan appeared at the Springer in Damn Yankees Footloose. At the Liberty Theatre, he has appeared in High School Musical and Direct from Deathrow the Scottsboro Boys. He was named best actor in one-act play competition when he was in high school.
Ensemble: Alicia Thompson appeared at the Springer in Damn Yankees, High School Musical and Amazing Grace. She has performed at the Liberty Theatre in Direct from Deathrow the Scottsboro Boys, Rejalene, Ive Got the Music in Me, The Wiz, Neat and High School Musical.
Ensemble: Anitra Thompson is a junior at CSU. At the Liberty she appeared in such shows as Ive Got the Music in Me, Direct from Deathrow the Scottsboro Boys and Rejalene. She won Best Actress in District A One Act competition in 2008. She performed at the Springer in Damn Yankees, High School Musical and Amazing Grace.
Ensemble: Zoe Wirt was on the crew for "Sideways Stories from Wayside School" at the Springer. She appeared in "Legally Blonde," "Story Theatre" and "Hairspray" at Columbus High. Although Zoe has been a Springer Theater Academy student for nine years, she just learned how to stilt walk. But she has won awards for being Most Focused, Best Team Player and Most Outstanding.
Ensemble: DB Woolbright appeared in Springer Mainstage productions of Ragtime, Peter Pan and Big River and in Springer Childrens Theater productions of Madeline and the Gypsies, James and the Giant Peach, Oliviatown, The Little Baby Snoogle-Fleejer and Amazing Grace. He is a junior at CSU studying theater performance. He has taught at the Springer Theater Academy for two years and for one year at Rose of Athens Theatre.
