Auburn, Ala. -- Lee Scott quarterback Jeremy Joseph was as good as advertised as he ran the Warrior offense to a 22-point halftime advantage en route to a 43-0 shutout win over Glenwood Friday night at Judd Scott field.
The win put Lee Scott in second place behind Tuscaloosa Academy in AISA region 1 with a 3-1 mark while Glenwood fell to 2-1 in region play.
The Gators are now 3-2 overall while the Warriors are 4-1.
Joseph had a great first half as he rushed for 112 yards and scored a touchdown , his six-pointer coming with 2:02 to play before halftime to give the Warriors the advantage.
His backup, MarQuen Mitchell also did his part when he ran for two fourth-quarter touchdowns and had 116 yards in the final period.
Joseph also got plenty for help from teammate Holt Ingalls, who did his part by scoring two touchdowns in the first quarter and had 67 yards in the first half. He finished with three touchdowns and 81 yards on the ground.
Glenwood's only scoring opportunity came in the first half when Dylan Denny intercepted a Joseph pass and ran it back to midfield. But after two first downs, the Gators were forced to punt.
The Gators' chances for a comeback were hurt when Glenwood quarterback Brandon Daley had a concussion in the final minute of the first half and backup Lawson Humphries had to come in to finish the game. He was sacked five times by the Warrior defense in the second half attempting to pass.
Zack Kelly had 8 tackles on defense and Logan Kiker had six for the Gators who will host Lyman Ward next week at Sammy Howard field at 8:00 in a region contest.
