A 23-year-old Columbus woman was in critical condition today after she was struck by a car on Manchester Expressway, Columbus police said.
The identity of the woman was not released pending the notification of her relatives, said Police Lt. Tony Danford. She was being treated at The Medical Center in Columbus.
The woman was walking south across Manchester Expressway near Rosemont Drive when she was struck by an eastbound Dodge Challenger shortly before 8 a.m. The impact left the woman's shoes and hat scattered in the street.
Morning traffic was slowed to one lane on the three-lane street while patrol officers investigated the accident.
No charges have been filed in connection with the accident. Police seized the Challenger which had damaged to its right front side.
