Police arrest man for fighting in civic center parking lot

Police arrested a man Saturday for fighting in the parking lot of the Columbus Civic Center, reports state.

Jonathan Thomas, 24, is charged with disorderly conduct and obstruction of an officer, police said.

According to reports, officers responded about 6:10 p.m. to the parking lot in reference to a fight. After police arrived they tried to break up the fight, leading Thomas to run from the scene.

One of the officers tried to use his stun gun on Thomas, though the attempt failed. Thomas was caught moments later and taken to the Muscogee County Jail, reports state.
