Bulldogs turn focus to Wildcats

Published: October 10, 2012

The Georgia Bulldogs held a two-hour practice in full pads Wednesday.

It was the second of just three practices scheduled this week because the Bulldogs (5-1, 3-1 SEC) don’t play Saturday. The team’s final workout of the week will be Thursday.

“We treated it like spring football; we’ve got a lot to get better at, and we wanted to go live and tackle,” Georgia head coach Mark Richt said in a release. “You take a risk when you do that in midseason, but we’re not competing this Saturday so we scrimmaged a bit (Wednesday). It was great competition, and I think the guys enjoyed it.

“We’ll get the game plan in and start perfecting it on Monday, so we can have a good performance against Kentucky.”

Georgia plays at Kentucky at 7 p.m. on Oct. 20. The Wildcats (1-5, 0-3) face Arkansas (2-4, 1-2) on Saturday.
