Northside softball shut out twice by Union Grove in first round of GHSA Class AAAAA state playoffs

MCDONOUGH, Ga. -- Megan Betsa pitched a pair of one-hitters as Union Grove swept Northside 2-0 and 6-0 in the first round of the GHSA Class AAAAA state playoffs.

Kendall King got the Lady Patriots' only hits. She broke up Betsa's no-hitter with a single with two outs in the seventh inning if Game 1.

She ended the Game 2 no-hitter in the sixth inning.

In the opener, Betsa finished with 19 strikeouts.
