Grand openings: Mix Ultra Lounge, Martini's celebrate on Friday

Published: October 11, 2012

If you're a regular of the downtown nightlife scene, you've probably noticed by now that Mix Ultra Lounge has replaced Oxygen and Mix's old location has morphed into Martini's.

DJ Roonie G, who owns both Mix and Martini's, said that he's "excited to deliver these new concepts to the city officially" on Friday night.

The grand openings at both locations kick of at 9 p.m. Friday, with Roonie spinning at Mix and DJ Alvin D hosting a double CD release party at Martini's.

"My show is a big deal because I haven't played here in a while," said Roonie, noting that he knows expectations will be high and he's up for the challenge.

Mix will also have free party favors for the first 100 guests so "come as early as possible," Roonie said.

Cover charges will be $5-$10 at each location and advance tickets are available.

Roonie said that patrons can also get a taste of both clubs on Wednesdays and Thursdays, when neither location will have a cover charge and Martini's will have 2-for-1 drink specials on martinis and margaritas.

However, tonight Martini's will feature rhythm and blues singer Bobby Valentino and will have a cover charge.

Roonie said VIP reservations for special events can be made in advance by calling 706-221-2112.
