Arrest made in assault on Columbus Tech student

Columbus police have arrested a man in connection with the Sept. 26 assault on a Columbus Technical School student in one of the school’s parking lots, reports state.

Herman Alexander Hall, 29, is charged with aggravated battery and robbery, police said. He was arrested Tuesday afternoon at the Columbus Public Safety Center.

According to reports, a 28-year-old student was in a parking lot of the Manchester Expressway school about 8 a.m. Sept. 26 when the suspect approached him. The student was struck and kicked several times, and had three fingers broken on his left hand.

Police say the suspect took $150 worth of items from the student before he fled. Officers began investigating the assault, and arrested Hall about 3 pm. Tuesday.
