Man arrested 2 weeks ago for stealing car rims, then arrested again for damaging police car

Published: October 12, 2012

A man arrested two weeks ago on accusations he stole some car rims was picked up again Wednesday for allegedly damaging a police car, reports state.

Leo F. Parks, 17, first was arrested Sept. 28 on charges of theft by taking and entering an unoccupied dwelling, police said. Someone spotted Parks taking $600 rims from a Cadillac at a Floyd Road home. Parks was later found inside a vacant Sturkie Avenue house, where he’d been staying about three weeks.

Parks spent a few days in jail before being released, records state.

Police arrested Parks again about 11:20 a.m. Wednesday on Glenwood Road. Police say they responded to a dispute in the area. When they arrived, Parks scratched a patrol car’s trunk, which led to a charge of interference with government property.
