HAWKINSVILLE, Ga. -- Brookstone's Madison McCluskey rushed for 266 yards on 29 carries Friday night and scored four touchdowns as the Cougars defeated Hawkinsville 35-21 in a Region 4A matchup.
"I feared a letdown after the Pacelli game, but the way we came out and played in the first half I was very pleased," said Brookstone coach Brad Dehem.
Brookstone led 28-7 at halftime and scored 21 points in a fast and furious second quarter, which included an 82-yard touchdown run by McCluskey and a 38-yard touchdown pass from Duncan Fletcher to McCluskey.
Fletcher was 14 of 21 for 180 yards with one passing touchdown and one rushing touchdown. Brookstone (4-2) had 478 offensive yards, while Hawkinsville (1-5) managed 220.
