Woman robbed of $1,500 in Publix Super Market parking lot

A Columbus woman lost $1,500 in cash after a man ran up behind her at Publix Super Market Friday morning and snatched her purse, police said.

The woman, 31, wasn’t injured in the 11:52 robbery at 5435 Woodruff Farm Road, said Columbus Police Sgt. Matt Blackstock.

The woman told police she was in the parking lot when a man walked up behind her, snatched her purse and fled on foot. Police are still looking for clues in the robbery.

The robber was described as white, 30-40-years-old and 5 feet, 10 inches to 6 feet tall. He was wearing blue jeans and black shirt.
