A police car struck a woman early today as she was walking across North Lumpkin Road in Columbus, killing her, WRBL reports.
According to news reports, the 26-year-old woman was crossing the street on her way to a club when the police cruiser struck her. It appeared the patrol car was traveling without lights or sirens when the incident happened, said people at the scene.
Coroner Bill Thrower pronounced the woman dead at 1:30 a.m. today, WRBL reports state.
