Amazing Race 21 results Oct. 14: Auburn University grads eliminated

ssorich@ledger-enquirer.comOctober 14, 2012

It was a rough weekend for Auburn fans. A day after Auburn lost to Ole Miss on the football field, a team of Auburn grads got eliminated from "The Amazing Race."

Auburn University grads Caitlin King and Brittany Fletcher finished last and were eliminated on Sunday's episode of the CBS series. They were the third team to be eliminated this season.

The Auburn grads' downfall? Well, they placed seventh last week, so they were at somewhat of a disadvantage at the episode's onset.

In the show's final minutes, they were in a neck and neck battle with substitute teachers Gary and Will. Both teams were riding something like a bicycle taxi to the pit stop. For a bit, it looked like the Auburn grads would get there first -- until their driver took a wrong turn. It cost them the game. The substitute teachers took the final spot.

Eight teams remain in the competition.
