Patsiliga Museum, Inc. will present “Harvest Days in Old Talbot” on Nov. 3 and 4. The activities for the weekend will be centered around one of Talbot County’s oldest businesses, Fielder’s Water Powered- Grist Mill. There has been a mill at this same location since the 1840’s and visitors will be able to see the grinding of corn and wheat into meal, flour and grits. There will also be grinding and then cooking of sugar cane juice into syrup. Watch logs become lumber, peanuts be boiled, hoecakes baked, there will be good music and lots of old fashioned fun for all ages. The goal of the event is to provide visitors the opportunity to experience the sights, sounds and smells of a by-gone era.

Patsiliga Museum, Inc., which is located three miles northeast of Junction City in Talbot County, has as its primary focus the preservation of Southern industrial equipment during the time period of 1840-1940. During this brief 100 years industrial equipment was powered by hand, horse, water, steam, kerosene, gasoline, and electricity. See antique hand sewn quilts, stationary steam engines, climb aboard the restored X-205 Southern Caboose, see how workers rode the rails on a restored Central of Georgia Pump car, watch as pottery, white oak and pine straw baskets are made.

Guests are invited to bring picnic lunches and spend the day or purchase hot dogs, hamburgers or barbecue from the Junction City Fire Department.
