Dress in pink and attend one of the upcoming breast cancer awareness activities in the Chattahoochee Valley.

AUKTION 4 A CURE BREAST CANCER AWARENESS LUNCHEON

What: Rho Rho Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. sponsors the 9th annual event. Proceeds provide education and medical services that will increase screenings for early detection and saved lives. Over $18,000 has been presented to past beneficiaries including: West Central Georgia Cancer Coalition, Elena Diaz-Verson Amos Center for Breast Health, John B. Amos Cancer Center and the Tidwell Cancer Treatment Center.

When: 11 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 27

Where: St. Luke Methodist Conference Center, Veteran’s Parkway

Theme: The Power of Pink

Cost: Tickets are $30. Sponsorship opportunities are available. The deadline to sponsor and purchase tickets is Oct. 15. For sponsorship and ticket information call 706-587-2829.

SHAVE TO SAVE

What: Columbus State University’s Kappa Sigma Fraternity members shave their heads to raise money for breast cancer research. Proceeds go to the American Cancer Society.

When: 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Oct. 25

Where: Near the clock tower at CSU’s main campus.

Cost: Free to attend, donations suggested.
