Woman killed in Phenix City traffic accident

A 71-year-old Seale, Ala. woman was killed in a two-car accident Wednesday afternoon in Phenix City.

Russell County Coroner Arthur Sumbry Jr. said the woman, whose name was not released, was pronounced dead at 1:07 p.m. at The Medical Center in Columbus. He said the accident happened at 12:25 p.m.

The accident happened at the intersection of Highway 431 North and Price Road.

Sumbry said the woman was driving a Chrysler Town and Country Van which was struck in the driver's side by a Chevrolet pickup truck.

Sumbry said Phenix City police are investigating.
