The Georgia high school softball state tournament Elite 8 returns to South Commons on Thursday.
With Class A split into public- and private-school tournaments this year, there will be seven champions crowned on Saturday.
Columbus is the lone local team in the Elite 8. The Lady Blue Devils open against West Laurens at 4:15 p.m. Thursday. Field assignments have not been announced yet.
