Pratt & Whitney loses $11,400 in tool theft

Pratt & Whitney has lost $11,400 in assorted new tools and used bits in a theft reported Tuesday at the 8801 Macon Road plant, Columbus police said.

The manager of site services facilities for the company told police the theft of items occurred sometime between Oct. 1 and Monday. The theft remains under investigation, police said. Used bits alone weighed about 100 pounds.

Pratt & Whitney specializes in the design, manufacture and service of aircraft engines.
