Spencer 36, Chattahoochee County 34: DeMarkus Robins scores late to lead Greenwave to win

CUSSETA, Ga. -- After a first half dominated by Chattahoochee County, Spencer fought back in the second half and rallied to score the winning touchdown with 12 seconds left.

The Panthers scored on a safety in the fourth quarter to build the lead to 34-22. But the Greenwave wouldn't quit. After scoring and converting to pull to 34-30, Spencer's defense forced the Panthers to punt. Spencer got the ball back on their 26-yard line with 2:09 left, trailing by 4 points.

The Greenwave then went 74 yards on six plays, culminating in a 1-yard touchdown run by DeMarkus Robins.

It was second heartbreak in a row for Chattahoochee County. The Panthers lost a tough 12-6 game to Kendrick last week.

Robins had 17 carries for 87 yards. For Chattahoochee County, Chris Askew had 13 carries for 149 yards and Jodie Duke rushed seven times for 119 yards.Friday at Cusseta, Ga.Spencer 14 0 8 14--36
