BUENA VISTA, Ga. -- Duncan Fletcher ran for three touchdowns and Madison McCluskey ran for two more as Brookstone beat Marion County 35-28 on Friday night at Eagle Stadium.
Fletcher's second run, from 3 yards out, with 11:25 left in the second quarter gave the Cougars a 21-0 lead.
But Marion County fought back as James Taylor scored later in the second quarter and again in the third to pull the Eagles within 7, 21-14.
The two teams traded touchdowns in the fourth quarter.
The win by Brookstone creates a logjam at the top of Region 4-A as the Cougars, the Eagles along with Dooly County and Greenville are all at 4-1.
