2 Saturday shootings on Macon Road; Police arrest juvenile for 1

A juvenile has been arrested and charged with aggravated assault in a shooting that took place at 3315 Macon Road in Columbus Saturday night.

Police are seeking a suspect in another shooting that also took place on Macon Road Saturday night.

Police say the two shootings are not connected.

The juvenile, 16 years old, was also charged with possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime and possession of a firearm by someone under 18.

He will appear in juvenile court this week.

Police said there was an altercation among friends around 10 p.m. between the McDonald's and LaQuinta Inn that turned physical and an 18-year-old Columbus man was shot in the right side.

He was taken to the hospital where he is in stable condition. The wound is not considered life threatening.

In another incident that happened at 11:30 p.m. at 4261 Macon Road, just outside the Xclusive dining restaurant an 18-year-old man was shot in the leg.

He was taken to the hospital and is in stable condition. The wound is not considered life threatening.

The suspect is a black man around 6-foot-2, 165 pounds. He was wearing a white t-shirt.
