Two people have been jailed in connection to a Columbus police probe of a 1-year-old's skull fracture.

Shortly after 2:30 p.m. Sunday, medics were called to 3320 N. Lumpkin Road, Apt. 808, because a child was unconscious and unresponsive, investigators said.

An ambulance was taking Travis Marzette Williamson to the hospital at 2:51 p.m. when the crew advised dispatchers the child's injuries were suspicious and police should be notified. Patrol officers called to the apartment and the hospital summoned detectives.

About three hours later, investigators arrested Devonte Tyner, 20, on two counts of aggravated battery and one count of cruelty to children, according to jail records. They also charged Deseree Williamson, 27, with reckless conduct, possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, and probation violation, police said.

Both suspects are to have a preliminary hearing in Columbus Recorder's Court at 9 a.m. Tuesday.
