A military appreciation day and open house will be held Nov. 10 at Brodwyn Military Chiropractic, 4050 Victory Drive, with free treatment offered to patients who stop by the office.

The event, which takes place 10 a.m.-6 p.m., will include free food, music and appearances by Columbus Cottonmouths hockey players and Columbus Lions football players, said Dr. Jay Brodwyn, who opened the clinic adjacent to Ranger Joe’s about about 15 months ago. His main office is on Edgewood Road.

“We’re going to do everything for free that day as a way of giving back,” said Brodwyn. “That whole office is really dedicated to giving back to the community because it’s a high volume, very low-cost thing and it’s more of a service to these military guys ... They have a chiropractor on every base, but it’s just for the active duty and they have to be referred. So to get in there is tough and they have to jump through a lot of hoops.”

The Victory Drive location serves more than 350 people a week, said Brodwyn, who hopes to treat more than 100 patients at no charge Nov. 10.

The office primarily handles active duty and retired military people, their family members and Department of Defense civilians and others working on Fort Benning.
