Shaw High student struck by car

A 15-year-old Shaw High student was struck by a car this morning and is currently in the intensive care unit at The Medical Center in unsatisfactory condition.

According to Columbus police, it was 8:06 a.m. at Schomburg Road and North Stadium Drive that the accident occurred.

The car, a 2010 Toyota Camry, was traveling north on Schomburg Road and the boy who had a already crossed three lanes of traffic was walking west to east.

The boy was taken by ambulance to the hospital.

Police say the case is still under investigation.

No charges have been filed.
