High school football player of the week: Calvary Christian's Duncan Newton

Published: October 31, 2012

Duncan Newton didn’t need long to know the kind of night he was going to have in Calvary Christian’s 47-28 win over Creekside Christian last Friday.

On the team’s first offensive play, he ran for 76 yards. When his night was finished, he had 337 total yards, 282 coming on 16 carries, and four touchdowns.

For his efforts, he is the Ledger-Enquirer’s High School Football Player of the Week.

Newton spoke with the Ledger-Enquirer on Tuesday about his impressive performance and his team’s outlook as it prepares for its first-round playoff game on Friday.
