A head-on collision on Georgia 85 in Ellerslie Thursday afternoon has left a 71-year-old man dead, authorities said today.

The victim was identified as Oliver Burns of Manchester, Ga., said Harris County Coroner James Carver. He was pronounced dead of blunt force trauma at the scene of the accident which occurred about 3 p.m. near Georgia 315.

The accident was investigated by the Georgia State Patrol.

Burns was driving a Jeep when the SUV collided head-one with a U-Haul truck. Burns was pinned inside the wreckage after the collision.
