A bullet may have been fired into a window at the campaign headquarters of attorney Mark Post, a candidate for district attorney of the Chattahoochee Judicial Circuit, Columbus police said.
Post is challenging incumbent Julia Slater for district attorney in Tuesdays general election from his headquarters at 1132 13th St.
Damage to the window on the buildings north side occurred sometime between 2 p.m. Wednesday and 11:15 a.m. Wednesday. In addition to a hole in the center of the window, police found a hole in the wall nearby.
Robert Willis, a volunteer for the Post campaign, said he reported the damage estimated at $1,000. I think its pretty evident, Willis said of the window damage. The window didnt shatter because its held together with a laminated film.
Willis said he didnt think anyone targeted the building and believes the damage was a random incident. It does make you a little uneasy, he said.
