A 21-year old Opelika, Ala., man died early Saturday of a gunshot wound to the leg, the Lee County Coroners Office said.
Jarron Holloway was pronounced dead of an apparent gunshot wound by Deputy Coroner Gene Manning. Holloways body was sent to the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences in Montgomery for an examination.
Opelika police and emergency medical personnel were called to the 100 block of South Third Street at 1:40 a.m. to check on a man lying on the ground near a home. The death remains under investigation as a homicide by Opelika police.
