Columbus Police: Report of armed robbery on Watkins Drive being investigated

Columbus police are investigating the reported armed robbery of a Columbus man Sunday evening.

According to the police report, the incident happened shortly before 10 p.m. on Watkins Drive.

The 32-year-old victim said he was cleaning out the trunk of his 2004 Mercury Sable which was parked in the front yard of his residence when a black male, wearing an Oakland Raider hat and a black or blue bandana over his mouth and nose, approached him and pointed a handgun at him.

The thief then told the man to "give it up, give it up."

The gun was a dull gray on top and black on the bottom.

The victim gave the thief $360.

The thief then laughed and ran away.
