New DASH diet cookbook on sale now

November 7, 2012

"Fresh & Healthy DASH Diet Cooking: Delicious Recipes for Lowering Blood Pressure, Losing Weight and Feeling Great" by Andrea Lynn hit store shelves and ereaders on Tuesday, Nov. 6.

The DASH (Dietary Approaches to Stop Hypertension) diet was developed by the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute to promote and support a healthy lifestyle. Fresh ingredients, low sodium and portion control are emphasized and recipes are created so that flavor isn't sacrificed.

U.S. News and World Report lists DASH is the No. 1 most effective diet for weight loss because it's easy to follow and nutritious.

Recipes include Roasted Tomato Bruschetta, Turkey Chili with Beans, Spinach-Stuffed Shells, Skirt Steak Lettuce Wraps and Banana-Raspberry Ice Cream.

Retail cost of the book is $17.95. It's $9.99 for the Kindle Edition. This would make a great gift for anyone who has a family history of hypertension or who wants to get some easy, flavorful and healthy recipes.

I'll be interviewing author Andrea Lynn for a Life & Taste column soon, so if you have questions please let me know and I'll be sure to ask.
