A 41-year-old Columbus man was charged with aggravated assault after a man was threatened in his apartment with a hand ax late Thursday on 12th Avenue, police said.

Brent M. Watson also was charged with one count each of first-degree burglary and second-degree criminal damage to property in the 8 p.m. dispute.

The 23-year old man wasn't injured.

Watson, a neighbor of the victim, is accused of entering the man's apartment and threatening to kill him with a hand ax, police said. Damage to the apartment was estimated at $50.

The case remains under investigation.
