Stiff bonds have been set for two men accused of setting a fire at Rehobeth Baptist Church in Cataula.

Cody Ty Watson, 19, of Phenix City and Larry Hutto Jr. 37, of Cataula are each charged with one count of burglary and aggravated arson in the Tuesday fire at the predominantly black church on Preston Road.

Sheriff Mike Jolley said the bond was set at $137,049 for Hutto and $137,716 for Watson.

Both men are accused of igniting pews, burning the Christian flag and an old Bible inside the sanctuary. The suspects also attempted to burn the communion table at the church.

On Thursday, pastor Charles Graddick said church services on Sunday will be moved to the Family Life Center at Friendship Baptist Church in Hamilton. Sunday school starts at 10 a.m. and the morning worship follows at 11 a.m.
